Joan Marcel Bencomo Pérez
Percussionist, born in Guanajay, graduated from the School of Art Instructors. From a very young age he was inclined towards music taking classes at home with his father.
He has participated in various groups: La Timba Blanca (Duo with his Father), Conjunto Artemiseño, Osmani García, Kola Loka, Pipey and his Group, Yaokende and Grupo Carena to name a few, touring and performing at several important festivals in Cuba.
Since 2015 he has lived in Mexico, starting his career in the groups Robertico and the Team of Havana, Rolando Lesmo and Trío Rumba, and in 2016 he joined the University Center for Musical Studies in Querétaro, as a percussion teacher.
In 2017 he was a member of Ricardo Montaner's band.
In 2023 he collaborated with David Álvarez and Juego de Manos.
In 2024 he participated in the International Jazz Festival in San Miguel de Allende in collaboration with Gil Gutiérrez.
He is currently a musician in: Team de la Habana, Trio Rumba, Juanma and Son de Calle, Trío Royal, Son Fragancia and Agrupación Sangremal.
